It was a pleasure to assist the Lune Media team and Tracy Grimshaw as they tackled the highly emotive and personal question of longevity. This was a really interesting short series that I hope you get the chance to watch, I think it might actually change your life.

As part of XPRIZE we have the Healthspan USD101Million prize currently running, and longevity and health are becoming a hot topic of conversation. You might find this interesting. https://www.xprize.org/prizes/healthspan
In my book, Converge, I tackled some of the research and opportunities around the future of medicine and health. In chapters such as "Your 100th Birthday" and "Digital Doppelg?ngers". In essence, we are seeing a true acceleration now towards something call 'longevity terminal escape velocity'. I am also very interested in the diseases we will find amazing treatments (and dare I say, cures?) for over the next 10 to 20 years.

There are thousands of people in the UK being recruited to mRNA 'cancer vaccine' trials and it is great to see across the literature that melanoma and brain cancer (some of the highest death rates) are being targeted now... https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cl77qvd2krgo
The true goal is to prevent any cancers, as well as treatment options. We are racing towards it... Life in 2040 will look very different from a 'preventative medicine' point of view. I am a pragmatic optimist; the science is just in plain sight now; it is a matter of safely scaling.
The first season of "News From The Future" podcast is up and running on Apple and Spotify and YouTube as well as my Substack. We are taking a break after episode 20 and will be back in a few months. Let me know if you'd like to get involved.

And of course, there are things in the works as always.... watch this space!
On a personal note: I have just had major eye surgery (a trabeculectomy) to assist with management of my rare eye disease... It is all a bit traumatic, but there's nothing to be done apart from the best we can at the time, and wait for the CRISPR CAS9 technology to be used in the eye.... more on this when I have it (and have hopefully had a trial or treatment to get involved with).
A recommendation for you for July is to set yourself an achievable challenge for what remains of the rest of the year. We are half ways folks! Soon the mince pies will be in the Supermarkets.....
Onwards!

4 个月Great post & thanks Catherine. I’ve been privileged to get to know Oracle Healthcare which has been featured on the program and adjacent, on A Current Affair with Nick Coatsworth . As shown on the program, simply getting a good baseline with the right technology, like the Dexa and VO2Max that Oracle Healthcare provides (with full heath assessments and qualified professionals including Dr Anna Lena Attebo and Isaac Werrett ) is key to understanding where to focus. And your simple callout to set an ‘achievable’ goal is so important. Best wishes for your eye and thanks for all the momentum you bring to these and many important issues … and I’m sorry your portrait didn’t win the Archibald, it was inspired :-)
