Do you want to know one of the grave mistakes I did in my business?
Production, Purchase, Human Resources, Finance & Accounts, Marketing & sales, Research & Development and operations are 7 key functions of a business. These can be compared to spokes of the wheel of a cycle. Imagine if one spoke gets detached from one end of the wheel and hangs. While the cycle is pedaled, the spoke which first got damaged hits another spoke, then all the spokes starts hitting one another and eventually the wheel seizes its function.
Similarly, if one function or department in a business malfunctions, it causes turbulence across all other department ruining the business in total. Hiring the right people for the right job is the first step of retaining good employees in the company. This in turn will generate harmony and good rapport among employees, business owner and the customers.?This is one of the key elements of business growth.
?As a budding entrepreneur I didn't have the awareness, neither about the importance of right recruitment nor consequences of wrong recruitment. So, I did not acquire any knowledge or developed any skill pertaining to that. In the beginning I recruited 4 white collar staffs based not on merits, but by personal relationships. These people were spoiling the whole atmosphere in my company, so that I couldn’t cultivate the kind of culture I aspired, and competence of people went unrecognized. I couldn’t manage them or fire them because I always put emotions ahead of logic and merits. Ultimately conflicts became order of the day. The overall growth had been dampened, due to this.

Once, I got a chance to attend a seminar on reprograming subconscious mind. That gave me an insight, in many ways but in particular to take control of my thoughts in accordance with my goals. I could understand that when we put our thoughts into action, we have to embrace the pain caused. Because we are crossing the threshold of our comfort Zone. From that point I took effective measures and actions pertaining to human resources management. Gradually I could cultivate the kind of culture I wanted to develop in my company. It was like fixing all the broken spokes of the wheel of the cycle to facilitate smooth and successful journey.
I suggest to people that, even learnings are considered stepping stones of success, it should not be too costly. But whether the learnings are costly or affordable, depends on how we make use of it.So, the better version of learning is to learn from others mistakes to avoid loss of money and time.?
