What could you do?
Finally get to that important project you've been putting off??Spend time reconnecting with friends and family??Or just rest and recharge?
Gaining that extra day per week became a reality for Banks Benitez and his team at Uncharted.?
In the early days of the pandemic, Benitez led an experiment to see if his team could transition to a 4-day work week.?
For Benitez, that didn't mean cramming in 40 hours in 4-days. It meant 40 hours' worth of results with 32 hours of work - 100% of the impact with 80% of the input.
The experience wasn't seamless.?
In his own words, Benitez was a "brute force entrepreneur". To him, there were no trade-offs. Powering through and getting things done was simply the cost of doing business.?
The culture at Uncharted mirrored that of its leader.?But as they implemented this new approach, they found something surprising.?Uncharted didn't have a "can-do" culture; it had a "can't say no" culture.?

2 年Great article, Greg. Working with 80% effort with 100% result is a great way of saving time. But, in my opinion, this can only be done in the short term if not properly arranged and studied. Because in the long-term, salary will become an issue for many companies. Most companies calculate salaries based on time spent to complete the work. So, for the sake of saving time, overloading work to employees is unavoidable, in the long term. Anyway, it's just my opinion. ??However, I would love to spend more quality time with my loved ones during those extra days ??. Looking forward to your next article Greg.
