Do You Want to Achieve Success As a Service Business Owner?

Do You Want to Achieve Success As a Service Business Owner?

Are you really doing all that you can to achieve service business success? If you’re not doing these four things, you need to make a change today.

You always have a choice when it comes to your own success as a service business owner.

Let’s say things aren’t going the way you want them to. You’re not generating enough revenue and you feel like you’re giving your whole life to the business.

You could just moan about it. Give it the old “woe is me” routine while things get worse.

Or, you could actually do something about it.

You could get off your butt and take some action that will change your fortunes.

So, I’ve got a question.

Do you really want to be a success?

I have a hunch that you do. All you need is a guiding hand to help you to achieve the service business success that you’re looking for. You need a little help to see what actions you’ve got to take.

If this fits the bill for you, here are four tips you will find helpful.

Tip #1 – Get Yourself a Coach/Mentor

We’ve done such an awesome job of romanticizing the idea of self-made entrepreneurs. We love to read about the people who pulled themselves up from nothing and achieved great things.

And do you know why we love that stuff?

Ego.

Your ego tells you that you could be that person. You could be the entrepreneur who figures it all out and builds something amazing all by yourself.

Except that it’s all bull.

Even the “self-made” guys had a ton of help along the way. I guarantee that every single one of them had coaches or mentors who provided some guidance.

If you don’t have a minimum of one coach or mentor, you’re running lonely. You’re doing the lone wolf thing, which sounds all romantic until you realize that wolves are pack animals. The lone ones don’t tend to last all that long.

Right now, I have seven coaches that I work with.

Why?

Because if I want to be the very best at what I do, I need to surround myself with the best people. I need to learn from people who’ve done amazing things.

Find yourself a coach or mentor who can provide guidance and has your back when the going gets tough. That’s what you need if you want to achieve service business success.

Tip #2 – Get Crystal Clear on Your Target

Some service business owners are too scared to say what they want from their future.

I might talk to somebody and have them tell me that their target for the year is $1.5 million or $1.6 million in revenue.

So which is it? 1.5 or 1.6?

You have to get crystal clear on your target because a lack of clarity means you have more chances of missing it.

I want you to approach your target with military precision. I’ve trained with a lot of military and Seal Team Six guys. And what happens when they set their eyes on a target?

BOOM!

They hit it.

Here’s what I want you to do.

Forget about goals. They’re often vague things like “I want to make more money” or “I want to lose weight.”

Stop setting goals and start creating targets.

When I ask you how much revenue you want your service business to generate this year, you need to hit me with an exact number. I want you to tell me what your target is.

Once you have a crystal clear target, you can do a lot more planning and work to hit that target.

Tip #3 – Stop Creating Your Culture by Default

Let’s turn the focus to your service business. How much work have you put into creating the culture in your service business?

Too many people tell me that they haven’t worked on it at all. They’ve just set up a business and allowed the culture to create itself.

They’ve created a culture by default and it always sucks.

You need to create your culture by design. When you run a service business, you need to control what that business does and what it stands for.

Allowing a culture to form by default allows bad habits to spread through your business. It allows indecision and confusion to creep in. Nobody’s in control of the culture, so it constantly changes.

You’ve got to grab your service business by the scruff of the neck. Design what you want it to be and control the culture that you create.

Tip #4 – Learn the Skills (And Then Take Action)

You cannot learn any new skills until you change your mindset.

This comes right back to what I said at the top of the article. You need to realize that you’ve got to change something to achieve service business success. After all, whatever you’re doing right now isn’t working or you wouldn’t need to read this.

Once you accept that you need to change things, you clear your path. Now, you’re in a place where you can learn new skills…

But that isn’t enough.

Learning the skills is one thing. Anybody can read words on a page and recite what they need to do.

The most important thing is that you take action. You need to take what you learn and implement it into your service business.

Otherwise, you’re just a service business owner with a lot of ideas and a business that’s collapsing around you.

Are You Ready to Change?

That’s the key question you need to answer right now.

To achieve success as a service business owner, you need to accept the fact that you have to make some changes.

The four tips that I’ve shared in this article give you a great starting point. You can do these four things right now to start the transformation process in your business.

But there’s a lot more for you to learn if you want to create a sustainable service business success.

That’s where CEO Warrior comes in.

Now, I’m going to leave you with a question…
