Do You Use Time to Earn Money or Do You Use Money to Earn Time?

Do you know why some people value their money more than others? ??
Or why some people value their time even more than their money? ?
These are not simple questions, because we rarely think 100% only about money or 100% only about time. ??
That's one of the reasons why our mind will tell us to go to another shop and save $5 on a $10 shirt but it won't tell us to go to another shop when we could save $5 for a $1000 suit. ??
So what's the catch? ??
Well, the answer isn't simple. If it would be, we would all be making the perfect decisions all the time. ??
However, the truth is that we do have mental shortcuts that help us make quick and "good enough" decisions. ??
Imagine the 2 of us going out to buy a car. We both have $50k in our bank account and we know that we'd like to buy a car for around $15k. ??
You go first to to the car dealership and you see a beautiful Hyundai that you start inspecting. You get a test drive, you notice that you'll have enough space and comfort to get you where you want. It does look pretty damn good as well. It's exactly what will satisfy your needs. And you'll still have money in the bank. ??
?On the other hand, i might feel like I don't just want a simple car, after all, everyone has one. The car dealer is able to notice that and he starts to direct me toward a BMW. Now guess what. He'll probably show me what kind of people have a BMW and he'll try to let me know that whenever I'll arrive somewhere, I'll arrive in style. ??
Guess what, you buy a $15k car and I buy a $50k. Even though we both had the same amount of money available. We both went with the same intent but since all I was focusing on was the car and not the actual thing it does, I paid a bigger price. ??
Worth it? Who knows. It's not a right or wrong answer, but I'm sure you know other people who do the same. We sometimes make more emotional choices and less logical ones. ??
If we both knew there was an economic crash around the corner, then this decision might have been a foolish one. But that's the beauty in our world, we have some variety and we'll find out later if we made a good decision or possibly a less than ideal one. ??
