I call this newsletter One2One (1-2-1), where I'll be sharing;
- 1 story
- 2 Topper Tips/Quotes
- 1 Must watch video
So without further ado, let's begin with today's story.
1 story:- Slow and Steady is Outdated
There is a well-known tale that brings home the point that slow and steady wins the race. Once upon a time a tortoise and a hare (rabbit) ran a race. It was agreed between them that the one who would reach the particular given spot first would win the race. The race, thus, began and the rabbit in a short time covered a long way. He looked back and saw that he had left his friend far behind. So he went into sleep thinking that when the tortoise would come up, he would take another run and beat him. But the tortoise went on slowly and steadily and won the race due to his continuous struggle while the hare was still asleep.
30 years back someone came up with this story of hare and tortoise which says ‘slow and steady wins the race.’ But moving fast forward 2021, the moral of the story is no longer relevant.
In the new context, being slow and steady will never bring you success. In this current world of cut-throat competition, you cannot assume that your competitor will sleep for a particular period. Everyone is equally awake, hustling every minute and hour to achieve their goal.
Moral of the story:
- One should learn a lesson from the story. In the modern context, if we talk about the story then one should have the spirit of the rabbit and consistency like a tortoise.
- Students should study regularly because if you are to succeed in any exam you have to be consistent.
- There will be lakhs of students competing with you and not everyone is steady.
- In this world of cut-throat competition more has been achieved by smartness and consistency than by brilliance. Mere ability cannot lead a man very far. However, perseverance, and sustained hard work very often lead to success.
Genius combined with a calm approach works wonder.
- Another mistake most of the students make is that they think they have time.

1 Must watch the video: How to improve Speed and Strike?
Success in a competitive exam is not only dependent on your knowledge level but also on to what extent you are able to apply that knowledge in the examination hall. In other words, what matters is to what extent a student is able to convert his knowledge (input) into a net score (output).
The video talks about 3S for Sure Shot Success which are;
- Speed: Ability to solve questions quickly.
- Strike Rate: Ability to solve questions correctly
- Selection: Ability to select what to do & what not to do.
