Do you "Think" your home is Clean? Think Twice ... starting with "flushing!"

Your house is clean - isn't it?
We all want to have clean and safe places for our families, friends and ourselves - of course. But is your home "clean & safe," or could it be a lethal "Germy Zone?"
Am I bringing up the subject because "I pass all the areas I'm about to mention with flying colors?" ahhhhh No!
I saw this in an "Apple feed" news story from CNN. Let's start at the potty! Actually they say in the article that toilets are actually among the cleanest places in the home - because we clean them often! OK - that makes sense - so where is the alarm? Is the dog in jeopardy?
So first - they say your toilet itself is actually among the cleanest and most sanitary places - so the dog is safe drinking the water. So what did I read, that sent me reeling a bit? If you leave the lid up... (& I do when flushing "the business") then bacteria spreads about 6' on average every time you flush from the water action, swirling! 6 FEET! ... and how far is your sink & toothbrush from your toilet? Zoinks! Is that true? Yuck!
And guess what folks - they're NOT GUESSING - but proving it scientifically... Uggh!
Other prime culprits? Sponges!
But I run mine through the microwave...... doesn't help! Sometimes I extend the sponge's life by putting it in the dishwasher ........ doesn't help either! (Gulp - so I'm polluting myself? ahhh - Yep)
Refrigerator handles - big crime scenes too - I get that one!
Your dish towls & hand towels in the kitchen - ahhh yeah.... what about them? Are you changing those every 2-3 days........... well...... not EVERY 2-3 days!
One last REALLY? a REAL omg "NO"
"One of the top five germiest places in the kitchen, according to the NSF, is the water reservoir for your coffee pot.
Follow your manufacturer's recommendations for your brand and model. Typically the recommendation is to clean the reservoir monthly by adding up to four cups of undiluted vinegar, letting that sit for 30 minutes and then turning the pot on and running the vinegar through the unit. Follow that with two to three cycles of fresh water -- more if the vinegar odor isn't gone.
The Coffee Pot Reservoir? That's a real disappointment for me - a certified caffeine addict!
Other Crime scenes: the Rubber spatula! The can opener! The Meat & Veggie Crispers!
