Do you think Mental health is still a taboo subject?

Do you think Mental health is still a taboo subject?

Naomi Osaka a 4-time grand slam winner and presently the number 2 Women’s tennis player in the world walks away from a post-match press conference citing mental health issue.

In an ideal world this should have been no news at all but unfortunately, we do not live in an ideal world which is more often than biased.

I can just about feel for this 23-year-old who is in the center of a so-called controversy for not standing by her professional commitment. The sad part is how this whole incident is blown out of proportion when it should be just treated as just another day.

When I look back at this incident, I remember so many of my own clients who are going through a lot more in their respective lives but still do not walk away from attending meetings, presentations and in some cases board meetings just because people around them expect them to.

I always tell them that their "Mental Wellbeing" is as important as physical wellbeing and there should be no compromise at all.

However most ignore this cardinal rule and push themselves to just be present physically when ideally, they should be taking care of themselves.
