Do You Stop Yourself?

Do You Stop Yourself?

Have you been following the US election? The results are looking ok right now, but the outcome is not certain.. Tense times.

For people all over the globe who are interested in the direction the world is headed - this US election is another stressful event.

Thanks 2020! You just keep on giving.

But as uncertain as this time is, my advice is - don't allow this or any event to stop you from continuing on your mission. Whatever your mission might be - your mission for success - your mission to speak your message - your mission to affect the lives of more people.

Don't STOP yourself.

... I just had a coaching session a few days ago with a talented Parisian coach and healer. She wanted to talk about all the issues that were plaguing her and her business.

But I wasn't interested in hearing about them.

Why?

Because THEY were not the issue.

Not.

Even.

Close.

This client (like many of us) had a habitual pattern of stopping herself.

She would build momentum in her business, get clients, create good income and then something would come up - that meant she had to stop dead.

These issues ranged from:

> A couple women on social media "ripping off" her work.

> A recurring health issue flaring up.

> Technical problems that she didn't want to deal with.

The reasons didn't matter - as it appeared that each year "reasons' would arise.

And these reasons were a manipulation her ego found to keep her safe - and comfortably stuck.

Do you do the same thing?

... Where in your business do you "stop yourself"?

For example,

  • When you gain momentum do you have an argument with your partner to knock your energy and positivity back down?
  • When you have a comfortable amount of clients, do you stop putting yourself out there?
  • When you have a "good" amount of sales, do you stop making sales calls..?

What if next time, you didn't stop?

What would your business look like?

In a year?

In 5 years?

This client has now made a solemn commitment to NOT STOP for anything - even if the house next door falls down - she will keep building momentum - break a long standing pattern - and (more than likely) sail into uncharted bluer waters of greater success.

Sometimes we can't see what our real issues are, because we're too close.

... This can be the gift of having a mentor.

If you have ever (or if you are continuing) to stop yourself. The first step is awareness! When you make the subconscious conscious - you can change the behaviour and alter the outcome!

I'm aware of what it's going on but I'm continuing to focus on my business. I'm not slowing down my endeavors to acquire new clients.

Good for you in telling the client the TRUTH. Many times as coaches, we have a hard time being fully transparent with our clients bc some are afraid they will ‘hurt their feelings’ and lost them as clients. Yet, isn’t that the reason they hired us in the first place? To provide open and honest feedback to guide them in better directions. If that behavior isn’t carried through, your continued sessions won’t seem as genuine and as a coach, you may run out of guidance to give. Be sure to set clear and concise expectations up front with your clients or with any business relationship for that matter. Additionally, its a good habit to set boundaries. ?? Kate Hore-Lacy Well done ????
