Do you still want to remain a dinosaur?

Dinosaurs, which lived on the earth several millions of years ago, suddenly became extinct by the unexpected strike of a giant asteroid. The mighty creatures which instilled fear among all the other living beings of the time, couldn’t survive the impact of the meteorite.

Communications professionals are today faced with a similar challenge with the sudden yet substantial disruption caused by the digital media. The rise of digital and social media has been equally meteoric and has brought significant upheavals in our lives. What lay ahead is unknown.

So, the critical question at this hour is - Are we the dinosaurs? Shall we allow ourselves to become extinct or shall we evolve to become a new breed of professionals who are well adept with the new-age methods of communication.

My organization, Adfactors PR, has always had the penchant of staying ahead of the curve. It realized well in advance that the future of communications lie in digital and therefore with an objective of empowering all its employees with the nuances of digital communications, Adfactors PR in association with upGrad organized a digital marketing course. The result is a robust organization with 700+ consultants fully capable of driving the narrative in the digital world.

We have embraced digital like no one else and are well-equipped to offer our clients tailor-made solutions which are aligned with their overall communications goals. Under the leadership of Mr. Madan Bahal, we didn’t allow ourselves to become dinosaurs and are equally committed to handhold our clients as they embark on their digital journey.

It is widely believed that only birds (bird-dinosaurs whose lineages led to modern birds) survived the apocalypse which wiped out dinosaurs from the planet. With its infinite opportunities, digital and social media gives you the wings to fly high. According to Charles Darwin’s Origin of Species, “….. the species that survives is the one that is able best to adapt and adjust to the changing environment in which it finds itself.” The changing times in communication demand digital proficiency from all marketers. The writing on the wall is clear – embrace the change or become obsolete.

Today, on the occasion of World Social Media Day which co-incidentally is also World Asteroid Day, I would like to end this article with a question – Do you still want to remain a dinosaur?
