Do you set enough boundaries for yourself?

Do you set enough boundaries for yourself?

We all have our way of how we feel comfortable and take part in every day and work life. Sometimes, though, our way gets interrupted by other people’s needs or circumstances and so we adapt. Being adaptable is a great skill and something more remote-friendly organizations seek for. It’s a must-have skill to live the digital nomad lifestyle successfully long-term. But how adaptable should you be? And aren’t your boundaries more important than other people’s needs? So how do you set boundaries? In this newsletter, I would like to give you the opportunity to learn more about setting boundaries. I also added 8some handy steps to revisit your own boundaries based on my chat with digital nomads Kristin Vierra and Steve Tsentserensky .?

8 easy steps to start setting your boundaries

Step 1: Approach boundaries simply as guidelines to navigate your personal and work life. It makes the process for you and your environment kinder and reduces the pressure.

Step 2: Connect with your core values and make sure you are SUPER clear on this. Ask yourself, “How do these values come to life in your personal and work life?”

Step 3: Visualize how your core values come to life in your personal and work life.

Step 4: Think about your non-negotiables and what makes you feel comfortable, happy and loved

Step 5: Go back to your core values and think about how you disconnect, recharge your energy and spark and what the best way to be alone is.

Step 6: Again, revisit your core values and ask yourself how you want to be part of your environment and vice versa. Think about the purpose of your relationships and what is your preferred way of building and nurturing your community?

Step 7: It’s time to act and practice what you preach. So make the adjustments in your own everyday life and kindly communicate these guidelines with your immediate environment whenever needed.?

Step 8: Constantly check in with yourself to see if you are meeting your guidelines and feel confident about improving if things aren’t working out. It will take some time until your new guidelines are part of your everyday life but this will help you navigate through life ?

?Remember that this is an ongoing process so don’t be too hard on yourself or on others?

This week I would like to thank 3 in my network ??

Kenneth Hellem - Thank you for sharing your story with me and your approach to finding your new job. I’m also in the middle of a career switch, and it’s heartwarming not to feel lonely in this process and connect with incredible humans like yourself. When I land my next dream job, you will be one of the first ones to know! ??

Kristin Vierra - You are such a humble person and it’s only a couple of months ago since we had our first connection call. We hit it off right from the start but it’s not a fast-love-friendship kinda thing. Since then, we have had virtual coffees to talk about dating, hormones, work, and entrepreneurship. This week we are both on a panel at the Freedom Business Summit and I truly hope to collaborate more in the future ??

Denys Dovgal and his team! Congratulations on the 4th summit already and thank you so much for having me! I’m looking forward to my panel with Tarek Kholoussy and Kristin Vierra and further helping the community!?
