Do you run a Rugby 7s Event?

The sport of rugby 7s is growing globally thanks to high profile events such as the HSBC World Sevens Series being broadcast and the inclusion of the sport in the Olympics; right now there is considerable interest in 7s around the world.

What was once our "summer run-out" on dry ground for a bit of fun is now a very serious sport in its own right. The fact that (at least for the moment) we still prefer to play in the warmer months means that 7s is often crowded into a very small playing window.

It can be very difficult for you as a tournament organiser to find new teams, never mind the fact that most teams might not even know your event exists. TRF is changing that for everybody. Through the Calendar section of our website teams can quickly look through the events that we have added to the diary and get direct links to the events that interest them or that fall within their window.

Imagine you are a team planning a tour (especially overseas), how do you find events when you want to travel? Hours of searching on-line and through Social Media? Did you get them all? Of course not. Now imagine a planner that showed plenty of options and events - including YOUR event.

Once a tournament submits their details via the calendar page, a small advert is placed in date order on the page along with the entry into the diary which will feature website links, emails, locations, history and any other information that you require. A single place for teams to check out your event.

Tom Read, Rugby Development Office at Gibraltar Rugby & Deputy Tournament Director of the Gib 7s said "This is a great idea and so overdue. Until now, there's not been any central resource to advertise or for teams to search events, it's been very hit and miss as well as time consuming. With TRF taking the lead on this, not only will more people become aware of the 7s in Gibraltar, leading to team entries from different areas but as it grows we will be able to offer more opportunities for teams in both 7s and 15s."

In their aim to Grow the Game Globally, TRF hopes that the calendar will become THE place to go for rugby event information assisting teams, events and event Unions.
