Do you remember school or Uni group assignments....

"Hey Kevin - you are really great with compiling research data and Susan you are fabulous with numbers are you cool to take care of that component?

Oh and Wendy - I noticed your wicked graphics from the last assessment you submitted - could you help us with that for this assignment?"

The delegating one.

The creative one.

The researching one.

The analytical number focused one.

It takes a team - and it takes all types of folks to get good stuff done.

Did you discover this at school or Uni but then forget or neglect to do the same in the workplace? Pick it back up again and notice who in your team is good at specific components of the team work.

It seems so dam simple and obvious - but sometimes we employ people without knowing what really makes them tick and knowing what they are really, really good at and not just the original role.

Is Ol' Mate in your accounting department really great at his job and awesome with numbers but has a secret ability to draw better than the Marvel animators? Take him out for a coffee your shout and see what his hidden talents and hobby loves are.

Encourage the "real you" at work - ok maybe leave the inappropriate version of you (get your freak on during the weekend for sure!) but encourage your team to bring their hidden talents outside of their role, into the brilliant work you do.

It takes all types and talents do be remarkable and delegating to a team with multiple skills is paramount to being brilliant and doing brilliant work!
