What’s In a person’s name particularly business contacts is vital. Even after meeting them briefly--its sends the message that the interaction was important to you. Perhaps no other skills make other’s feel valued or open doors for new connections.
It’s more of a learning skill, some strategies make a point to challenge yourself at networking events and other gatherings to meet new people and learn names.
Here are some tips to help you my advice start slowly.
- If you forget a name address it head on. If you can’t remember a name offer any information to help you such as where the two of you met.
- Concentrate. You can only remember what you observe in the first place. if you are distracted or not paying attention to detail you will automatically be forgetful. form in impression when you hear the name, pay attention when you first hear the name.
- Example: listen to the name. if you forget say “im sorry, I missed your name” can you give it to me again?
3.Associate. create an image based on the name and linking of the person’s physical characteristics. If you are more tuned to sound try making a sound associating the name with your impression. Or try linking the person’s name with a song lyric.
Example: -Latrice is patty’s niece
4. Repeat. Repetition engraves the name in your memory.

5. Ask for clarification with difficult names
