Do you really understand Agile?
I think today the Agile, more fashionable than prior! Everyone must be Agile to be trendy in the job market, and more importantly, at the conferences! If you want to be more competitive, you must emphasize Agile in your LinkedIn title!
In most cases, my department isn't handled as an Agile organization. It is always fun the see happenings around us.
Many times, in agile organizations, we see project managers who is looking for dedicated resources for the project, even in the agile organization!
I think it is still not clear what does it mean if we are stuck at dedicated resources!
For me, Agile is a management concept, where we dedicate resources to teams for value creation. In an ideal case, they work on the tasks that make the most value for the organization! No questions for yearly planning, estimation, and other usual stuff. Just value creation! When you start to do micromanagement, administration, and planning in the waterfall (e.g., do a traditional project planning), you show your colleagues you are talking about Agile, but still, you have no clue about the concept!
What is more critical: the micromanagement and overemphasized planning! You show, you don't trust your colleagues. And what differentiates green organizations compared to orange and red is the trust.
When micromanagement interweaves your organizational unit, it is more cost-effective if you fire all your middle management and handle their tasks.
You can make these efforts more significant if you combine this with double standards.
The individuals of the organization build each organization's culture!
It would help if you empowered them, and you show trust! You unleash their full potential. If you don't trust your colleagues, tell them directly instead of the micro-management. Honest, transparent communication is always a better way, then micro over administered management.
My advice. Build trust, allocate resources for domains, and let them work for you! You will surprised when you see the results!
