Going back to the basics, do you know what is the first step to achieve what you want? Don’t get surprised if I say that it is KNOWING exactly what you want. Yes, it may sound strange; but the fact is that a majority of people don’t really know what they want! What they know is perhaps it is not this, it is not that; but what exactly do they want, they don’t know!

While most people say that they want to be successful in life, they stumble if you ask them what exactly do they mean by being successful. What do they want to achieve? The reply could be a hesitant ‘I am not really sure’ or ‘I am not able to explain’. Or, it may be a vague ‘I want a better opportunity’ or ‘I want to be happy’. 

.One thing is certain. Unless you have specific goal, your situation will be like Alice in Wonderland. With no focus, you will spend your time and energy moving in all directions, ending up nowhere.

For example, serving in a job and just waiting for the right opportunity to get some breakthrough does not work. It might land you somewhere; but it may only be a matter of chance. Even if it turns out to be a better opportunity, what you may not realize is that perhaps you deserve something still better, much better. To reach your specific goals, you will need to adopt certain strategy, which needs to be in line with your exact target. Strategy to make a billion will necessarily be different from making a million. The moment you make your target clear, you can start planning and actively working in the direction to achieve it. You can concentrate your energies to actually find out what will get you there.

Having set specific goals and setting strategy to achieve them, keep yourself motivated by reading biographies of successful people you admire… and don’t hesitate to seek help from anybody you feel can contribute in your journey of success.
