Do you really know what your Total Cost of Ownership of your PC is ?

Recently a client asked my what would be the total cost of running one of our PCs vs a standard desktop. I talked about our ultra-low failure rate, 5 year warranties and only using high quality components. He was not happy with my answer. Some costs are the same for example screen, keyboards, mouse etc, so these could be ignored.
What he was really asking was over the lifetime of a PC how much would it cost, both in capital to buy, and operationally to run. This included cost of business disruption (and IT to fix) when something goes wrong. If the PC was running in a Hospital (patient facing), Restaurant or Hotel (Reception), then it is likely running 24/7. To the client purchase cost was only one element, he was concerned buying something cheap would turn out expensive. With price of electricity only going up, he felt buying smart is the right way, once he has the total cost of ownership, something he can present to his Board.
So based on my electricity bill, running a computer 24/7 running the computer for 7 years, how much would you save per computer ? I don’t have any prizes but the result may surprise !! Feel free to guess (in USD please)
Other factors you should take into account
When something goes wrong, both business disruption and IT time
Maintenance/Support costs outside of warranty
I have developed the above into a spreadsheet, and shared with the client. If you want to know the real cost of your PCs please message me.
