Over the years, I have been on both sides of this debate. Growing up I was a tomboy and athlete, so I didn't wear makeup. My mother used to have to beg me to put on lipstick. But then, as I got older I felt the need to wear makeup.? In my opinion, I felt that it was a more polished look for me.
Many celebrities have been showing off their natural beauty by endorsing the no-makeup trends. There are pictures all over social media and the internet comparing their makeup looks with their no-makeup looks.
Regardless of your personal preference, clean skin is all the rave and is a must. You want to make sure that you are doing these five basic steps of skincare no matter what brand you use and love. These five steps are…
1) Cleanse your face with a cleanser formulated for your skin type twice daily, morning and evening before you go to bed. The evening cleansing is a must because you are removing the sweat, oil, and environmental debris from the day.
2) Exfoliate two to three times weekly at night. This removes dull, dead, and dry skin. This is a nighttime regimen to allow the new skin that is now exposed to rejuvenate while you sleep. Be sure to do this after your nightly cleansing step.
3) Tone your skin to refine your pores after cleansing when you don’t exfoliate.
4) Moisturize your face with a moisturizer compatible with your skin type.? If you have combination or oily skin, you still want to moisturize. Use an oil-free moisturizer or your skin will create its moisture causing you to be more oily. This step is done after toning or exfoliating.

5) Protect your skin with sunscreen and/or foundation. This step will protect your skin from the harmful UVA and UVB rays and other environmental stressors that can lead to premature aging, like fine lines and wrinkles.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion which is why I wanted to share. I think the no-makeup look is great for people that have great-looking blemish-free skin because they have nothing to hide.? Their skin is even and it looks great so they can do the no-makeup look.?
For me, my answer would be it depends.
I have my chill days when I’m hanging out with family and I don’t wear a stitch of makeup. While at the same time, I have those days where I want to be glamorous so I rock the makeup look. I have oily skin and I get the occasional breakouts even with a regular skin regimen. I am also naturally dark around my eyes and cheeks. So, I occasionally cover my blemishes while always concealing my natural discoloration for an even and flawless look with makeup.?
I’m a firm believer that when you look good, you feel good, so you can do more. Your perceived attractiveness should be based on how you feel individually. If you are comfortable with the no-makeup look, “Do you, Boo! However, if wearing makeup enhances your confidence, by all means, wear it.???
