Do You Need to Validate Your Niche or Are You Afraid to?Blog?
Do you want to dig deeper into your blogging niche?
Do you want to validate your blogging niche?
Or are you simply afraid to commit to blogging?
Blogging is really quite simple. Follow your passion. Solve a pressing problem by doing niche research. If people are talking about your blogging niche on Google, Twitter, Reddit and Quora then you have a blogging niche to cover. But if you have deep fears concerning your niche then you will try to do more and more research until you have exhausted yourself.
Spot the difference between being afraid to blog versus needing to do more niche research. Most bloggers have enough information to begin blogging confidently in terms of a niche. But fear worms its way into the process, sometimes delaying the niche selection process for days, weeks and months.
8 years ago, I had a passion for sharing blogging tips. I also observed a demand for aspiring travel bloggers. People wanted blogging help in order to become professionals. I had my niche because my passion solved a pressing problem. Even though I drove into blogging many fears in my mind tried to talk me out of blogging.
Blogging Fears
Would I fail? Would readers like my content? Doubts bedeviled me but I blogged because the only way to conquer fear is to feel it, to let it go and to proceed in the direction of your dreams. I doubted myself, my blog and my niche selection but each fear had everything to do with my mind and nothing to do with the niche selection process.
I had all of the proof in the world that this blogging tips niche felt fun and was quite helpful to bloggers. But my doubts did not go away until I faced them by blogging. Right now, do you need to engage in more niche due diligence? Or are you simply afraid to commit to blogging? In most cases, bloggers doubt themselves then project their fears onto their blog and their niche. This often manifests as doing weeks or even months of niche research which becomes an utter waste of time because you already have your niche. You know that this niche is in demand. Now it’s time to take the next step by blogging right through your fears as you face, feel and release anxieties, worries and stressors in your mind.
Nudge into?Fear
You probably do not need to engage in another split second of niche research. But you likely need to face your fears again and again in order to defeat these mental foes. Even if everything appears to line up in practical fashion, you will not succeed until you learn how to face, feel and release your blogging fears. Skilled, capable bloggers usually struggle, fail and quit because fear in their mind seems like too great of a foe to conquer. Meanwhile, less skilled bloggers gain the critical experience of facing their fears and go on to become the most successful professional bloggers in their niche.
This successful crowd simply gained experience enough to become full-time bloggers. Everyone else cowered to their fears on the blogging sidelines. The failing crowd doesn’t gain experience because they’re afraid to blog. You cannot succeed if you don’t blog. You need to dive into blogging in order to create and connect your way into a professional blogging career.
Never fear wasting your time. Fear not gaining blogging experience. Most bloggers fear wasting their time or being criticized but they should be terrified to wait on the blogging sidelines and not to gain blogging experience because experience can make you a pro. Who cares if you’re criticized? Who cares if you struggle for a bit? At least you’re gaining experience which positions you to go pro.
The real problem is not gaining experience. For every day or week you spend indecisively researching your blogging niche there are bloggers who dive in, screw up, struggle but gain invaluable blogging experience on their way to going pro.
You better do the same if you ever hope to become a professional blogger.
Do Research Then Dive?In
Do niche research. Check Google, Twitter, Quora, Reddit and LinkedIn for demand. Do people talk about your blogging niche? Follow hashtags on the sites. Are people asking questions about your niche? If there is a demand you can simply begin solving their problems through your blogging passion. Once there is a demand then you need to begin blogging immediately because further analysis paralysis reflects your fears back to you rather than being some necessary step to get clear on your niche.
If people are talking it’s time to begin blogging in order to face your fears.
Validating your blogging niche is a simple, clear process that’s usually quite easy and seamless. But facing fear in your mind is a longer, more uncomfortable process that appears to be complex from time to time. The complexity is the ego trying to create more doubt, problems and chaos in your mind versus facing the fear that fuels all of your indecisions.
Once you validate your niche just start blogging.
You already have your niche. Now face your fears to lay the foundation for a professional blogging career.

2 年Well yeah most of the times bloggers are afraid of doing the research and they face so many "what ifs" in their mind known as fears that what if it doesn't work out, what if this niche is not good enough, what if I fail at the end . And this leads to nothing but frustration, overthinking and at the end leaving blogging altogether!
