Do you need a Leadership Programme or a Leadership Culture?

Do you need a Leadership Programme or a Leadership Culture?

Imagine an organization where leadership development happens naturally, embedded into our everyday work. That's the ideal many of us strive for, and it's achievable by fostering a leadership culture rather than relying solely on another leadership development programme.

Now, traditional programmes often come with drawbacks:

  1. They imply leadership isn't inherent: Their existence suggests the organization doesn't naturally cultivate leaders, raising questions about its overall approach.
  2. They can be exclusionary: Choosing participants can create a "chosen few" mentality, potentially demotivating those left out.

But here's a different approach:

  • Empower everyone: Encourage participation in decision-making and idea-sharing. This can unearth hidden potential and nurture leadership skills in everyone.
  • Focus on the present: Predicting future potential is unreliable. Invest in everyone's development now, and watch them blossom.

By creating an inclusive and empowering environment, you can cultivate a natural breeding ground for leaders, eliminating the need for a separate programme.
