Do you need an external tool to perform SAP CPI transports?

After working with in the SAP ecosystem for 15 years, I have seen that many time there are some limitations in what the tools can do and what you will need some manual procedures to do.

It could be the SAP PI message mapping cloud not be documented easily until after probably 8 years in the Netweaver Developer Studio. Or you needed an external tool to perform EDI mappings.

With SAP CPI I do see that there are gaps in the different processes offered by SAP to handle the development infrastructure. It could be the change to see what is changed between versions or to or create better monitoring options.

It would oblivious be best if SAP was able to provide this as a part of the package because customers know what they was getting and did not have to go get other tools. It is just a matter of priority. I believe that the best thing SAP can do is to provide a solutions that has all the features that is requested and that you cannot build on top of their API.

It is not only in integration

Many partners have products that do enhance the full SAP platform in different ways from authentication, monitoring, DevOps or adding business or process logic in specific fields.

The benefit is that there may be an Eco system of partners or customers that are creating apps which is tailored to your needs. Even if you are not following the "Standard" SAP business. It will cost you more to quire all the different products, but on the other hand you are not paying for solutions you are not using.

What we are bringing to the table

When working with the solution I see areas that can be improved in different ways and I do hear what other people in the community have to say for areas that can be improved. Then I see if it is something that could make sense to bundle it for users, we will try to implement it. Some of the things may be replaced by SAP at some point in time, but by then we hopefully have something that make our products even better.
