You use an API to connect to the AI to build AI apps or services.
- For enterprise, API is necessary for enterprise requirements, security, access controls, authentication, uptime guarantees, service-level agreement (SLA), etc. For scalability, the API can handle large volumes of data and complex queries. An API also gives you real-time data from live systems, databases, and web services, such as stock prices, currency exchange rates, weather, and more.
- A personal ChatGPT with API (and a tool such as Open WebUI) gives you control over the AI’s parameters. Investment people, lawyers, property managers, and others have built amazing tools with the API.
- The main advantage: you can have one interface (with for example Open WebUI), connect to several AIs via their APIs, and rotate between them.
- However, you lose additional functionality, such as deep research, real-time voice, canvas, etc.
Are you using an API for personal use of LLM AI (such as ChatGPT, etc.)? Talk with me. Tell me how it works and how it helps.
