Do you need to add a protective coating to your floors?

When choosing a floor for commercial use there are many factors in making a decision. Long term maintenance processes should be a factor. I believe some users may mistake durability with the idea that the floor appearance will not change and does not require maintenance other than daily cleaning. When a floor is installed be sure it is understood how to clean and maintain the appearance of the floor. For floor care directions that state there is no need for a protective coating after installation, be on the lookout for wear over time - this can occur months or even years after installation. When wear or deterioration in appearance is detected it is time to consider adding a protective coating. Traditionally this involves application of floor finish and the planning of a floor care program.
Here is an example of how a floor was protected and made to shine beautifully with our Vert-2-Go Green Steel floor finish.
There are some locations or conditions where floor finish is not an option. Where a floor finish program cannot be used, Wood Wyant now has a product called Vert-2-Go Lustrex that can improve and maintain the appearance of "no finish" floors where regular daily cleaning is not giving good results.
Here is an example of how Vert-2-Go Lustrex (after a deep clean with Vert-2-Go D-Grease) was able to maintain a rubber floor that could not be made to look clean with regular damp mopping alone.
Do you need a protective coating on a floor? Consult the flooring maintenance guide and if it does not require initial protection of a coating after installation, pay attention to wear and appearance over time. Look to Wood Wyant to provide quality and innovative products to provide initial protection or help restore the look of worn floors.
