Do you know about zinc alloys?(1.Basic characteristics of zinc alloys)
As an experienced metal custom factory, I found that in the past two years, zinc alloy have become the basic choice for our customers.
When they are unsure what materials should or want choose, zinc alloys often appear in their inquiry list. no exception.
Why is zinc alloy so widely used that everyone knows it?
Maybe I could share some practical customization experiences.
I would like to share zinc alloy materials from several parts, basic knowledge, scope of application, why zinc alloys are chosen, and what zinc alloy accessories we have assist in the design and production of, etc.
If you have more content you want to know,?send me a message, or tell me in the comment, I will collect and share what you want to know in advance.
1.Basic concept.
Zinc alloy is an alloy composed of other elements based on zinc. The alloying elements that are often added are aluminum, copper, magnesium, cadmium, lead, and titanium.
2. Advantage
1- High dimensional accuracy of die castings;
2- Good surface finish and dense structure;
3- The product is dimensionally stable and has good interchangeability;
4- It can cast die-casting parts with complex shape, clear outline, thin wall and deep cavity to meet the requirements of modern people for the variety of product shapes.
5- The production efficiency of zinc alloy die casting is higher.
6- The material utilization rate is relatively high, the cost is almost no waste, cost-effective

3. Insufficient
But at the same time, zinc alloy also has some deficiencies that need to be overcome.?
1- It has low creep strength and is prone to dimensional changes caused by natural aging.
2- The most common defect in zinc alloy die castings is surface blistering, exposed after polishing, oil injection , electroplating?processing.
3- Corrosion resistance disappears after the surface zinc layer is damaged.
4. Features
1-Relatively large.
2-Good casting performance. It can die-cast precision parts with complex shapes and thin walls, and the surface of the castings is smooth.
3-Various surface treatments are available: electroplating, spraying, painting, polishing, grinding, etc.
4-It does not absorb iron during melting and die-casting, does not corrode the molding, and does not stick to the mold.
5-It has good mechanical properties and wear resistance at room temperature.
6-Low melting point, melting at 385℃, easy to die-cast.
