Do you know your WHY?

Do you know your WHY?

I thought I did!

I thought I was doing what I was doing because it's what I wish I was taught when I was overcoming the murder of my mother, domestic abuse and the emotional neglect I received in the years that followed.

But to be honest, I've rarely found it that motivating.

I would get up most mornings and think to myself...

"I've found my WHY, surely I should be buzzing to get out there and save the world"

Yet most mornings I would find myself staring at my phone, looking at other people doing what I do, thinking there must be something wrong with me.

2 days ago though, I upgraded my WHY! ????

In my last post on #lindkedin...

You can read it here...

I wrote about how I wish I could have used what I now know...

So I could go back and help my Mum to see that the bad things that happened to her, were not a reflection of her or what she could achieve in the world.

Hoping that if I did, she would realise that she didn't need to settle for a life that resulted in her death.

(Fingers Crossed)

Now I'm a skeptical guy. So I don't usually believe people when they say something like "I had a spiritual awakening" or "Suddenly it hit me".

But as I wrote that post...I felt a surge of energy I had never felt before.

Kind of like the one you get after that necking your double espresso first thing in the morning.

Even when I think about it now.

I feel like Superman on steroids who wants to fly around the world helping people just like my Mum.

Now I know that some might say that there is some self worth stuff going on underneath.

That I don't believe I was deserving of such support when I was younger and that's why my original WHY didn't work.

Maybe there's some truth to that.

But the way I see it...

We are NOT meant to do all this work on ourselves just so we can love ourselves.

We are meant to do this work on ourselves so we can re-discover the love we have for something that matters within us...

And use it to go build something good in this world ??

Have you found your WHY?

It's interesting Alex, the difference between logically knowing you "why" and having a vision that literally pulls you forward to accomplish it. I'm glad you found your rush to pull you forward! :)

I'm thrilled to bits for you Alex Williams. I think our why evolves and changes as we evolve and change as people. What mattered to us when we were younger may not matter to us much now. And what matters now may change in our old age. I've found my why a few times in my life, initially I'd be excited and I'd even be excited for a while (years). Then the excitement would fade away and I'd be in a sort of limbo until the next stage of life. Of course I'm sure some people have the same 'why' throughout the whole of their lives.

Isn't it wonderful when those quiet realisations surface? It can have been fermenting for weeks, sometime longer, and then there it is in all its glory. You might look at it and think, is that it? It's obvious, but it feels soooooo good. Enjoy every delicious morsel of that feeling, and all the wonderful things it'll motivate you to do. And thank you so much for sharing the realisation...

I call it QUICKENING, Alex Williams (Mental Health Speaker) and I know exactly what you mean... It's like you "LEAP" forward in your development/growth/journey. I am SO THRILLED for you... I believe our Why is not an end destination, but an evolving one. You had a realisation that you had overcome the lessons that you needed to and now a new why is coming into state... It's beautiful to witness, Alex... Keep evolving! xxx ?? ??
