Do you know your customers wants and needs?

Last week Houzz emailed me their 2019 homeowner renovation report. It's the largest survey of residential renovating, building and decorating published. They surveyed 6972 UK homeowners on Houzz about their home renovations in 2018 and plans for 2019.

Who is Houzz For those of you who may not be aware, Houzz is the leading platform for home renovation and design. They connect millions of homeowners and home improvement professionals across the country and around the world.

Why we should care about their insights Finding out the mindsets and motivations of our customers is like finding a pot of gold.

Here, I share with you what I consider to be the most important insights from the report.

What homeowners prioritise during renovations An overwhelming 75% prioritise improving design/look & feel followed by 63% on improving functionality. At the bottom end of the chart only 13% and 15% respectively prioritised integrating smart technology and green materials.

What we can takeaway from these findings

Understanding the mindsets and motivations of our customers is crucial to making informed business decisions.

Instead of just relying on experience and "gut feeling" the findings from this report gives us greater insights into clients' wants and needs. They can help us create products and services our customers actually want and market them within the right context.

As always, Bathroom Origins is not just here to sell you aspirational bathroomwares, we're here to help, support and inspire you.
