Do You Know Your (Airplane) Tire Well?


This is only a Quick and Short Article to bring to your Attention the following considerations:

  1. Do you know your Airplane Tire?
  2. What is the Brand currently being used?
  3. Is it Radial or Bias-Ply?
  4. If you find a Wear, can you still fly?
  5. What are the Wear Tolerances? For How many Cycles?
  6. Is it recorded as a Deferred Item?
  7. Can you defer it per MEL? Per CDL? Or you must use the AMM?
  8. Can you still operate on Wet Runways? On RwyCC/RCAM 3/3/3?


Always discuss it with your Mechanics & MCC about it. You are going to learn a Lot!
