Do You Know Why You Were Born?

The truth is that everything is created for a purpose. If you reflect on the world around you, you will find that all elements were created for a reason. For instance, a tree has a purpose — it takes in carbon dioxide from the air and releases oxygen back into the atmosphere through the process of photosynthesis. It also provides shade, blocks the wind, provides shelter for birds, and bears fruit to feed people — just to name a few of its purposes. Mountains play a role in shaping the weather, and they provide minerals for us to mine. The moon was created for a reason, as were the planets. Every single organ in our bodies was created to do a specific task. In other words, there is no random creation.
Consequently, your existence has wisdom behind it.
Your being on this Earth is not a coincidence. And when you are embarking on the journey of entrepreneurship, understanding this wisdom will be the source of the clarity needed to create your future actions. Finding one’s purpose is a product of understanding how life works. It will also provide guidance as to where you should be heading.
There is no greater gift you can give or receive than to honor your calling. It’s why you were born. And how you become most truly alive.― Oprah Winfrey
There is really something magical about exploring your mind and heart. From that moment on, you perceive life differently. Your motivations change, your thoughts expand, and you head off in new directions. It is a complete overhaul, a truly rejuvenating path that is worth walking. I had reached my initial goal of understanding life; I found what my heart desires. But I had not yet reached my destination. Other areas of my life were ready for my attention. I had to start with myself before I could offer myself to the world. I had to build my skills in order to be able to give better. I knew that the change in myself had to be comprehensive, but I had a huge appetite for learning. And I was hoping to create a change in this world and help trapped souls set themselves free and enjoy the gift of life.

After reaching the conclusion that life, to me, is about giving, a sense of purpose started to develop in me. I felt that I was on to something and became very observant of my own interests, my likes and dislikes, the whys, and the hows. I was looking for the new me. My mission was to discover the giving part. What is it that I have to give that keeps me alive? What is it that I like to do so much that can help other people? I felt like I couldn’t even help myself, let alone help others. But I had to think harder and not give up so I looked back at my life achievements and the clues started to come in.
By considering all these previous arguments, I was able to connect the dots and conclude that teaching was something I was good at. I find happiness in teaching. It is a form of giving and sharing my knowledge. By teaching, I don’t necessarily mean being a schoolteacher or a university professor. It is more about empowering people with knowledge to help them make better decisions. That’s why I like to teach; that statement summarizes my purpose. Once I reached that state of mind, a sense of clarity started to settle in. Now I knew what life meant to me. I also had an idea of what my aim in life could be. I became very excited. Just thinking about becoming an educator gave me butterflies in my stomach; it made my heart start pumping as if to confirm that I was on the right track. The more I thought about teaching and coaching, the more I started to focus on my purpose.
So, what is your purpose? What are you here for?
