Do you know who your glue people are?—The High Performance Igniter?

The High Performance Igniter? is a brief perspective on what I’m seeing in the market, topics of interest for leaders and resources and tidbits to help you with your business. Here’s my take for April 24, 2024.

Things I’ve been thinking about

A number of years ago, I heard the term glue people.

They’re the people who sit between different departments and translate information back and forth.

They help make things happen, connect people with needs, know where answers can be found, etc.

They hold things together.

Some view glue people as unnecessary.

If the organization is designed and functioning well, they shouldn’t be needed.?

People are already aligned, know where to go for what they need, etc.

And in high performing organizations, that may be true.

But for a lot of organizations, glue people are necessary.

They hold disparate parts together to help the organization function.

They have the pulse of the organization because they talk to so many different people.

They can also be the first to go when budgets get tight if their value isn’t known.

Regardless of how high performing your organization is, there’s a need for glue people.

Do you know who yours are and how they benefit your organization?

?

To your growth and success,?
