Do You Know What Your Calling Is?

Do You Know What Your Calling Is?

For many years, I struggled to understand what my true calling was. I tried different careers and explored various interests, but I never felt completely satisfied. I worked in corporate jobs, traveled the world as an international flight attendant, and even dabbled in cooking and home decor. Despite these diverse experiences, my heart and soul were always searching for something different. I discovered that my true calling was to own my own business, but the journey to finding this path was not straightforward.

I remember trying cooking and thinking that maybe I could make it big on YouTube. I enjoyed experimenting with recipes and sharing them, but deep down, I knew that this was not where my passion lay. The excitement of cooking quickly faded, and I found myself looking for something more fulfilling.

Next, I turned to home decor. I tried decorating my space and sharing tips online, but it just didn’t ignite the spark I was hoping for. I liked the idea of home decor, but it didn’t resonate with me on a deeper level. I realized that finding my calling was more than just a hobby or an interest; it was something that had to connect with my inner self.

The turning point came when I started writing. At first, I wrote about topics related to my background, like banking, which I had experience in as a former banker. I thought writing about banking would be a natural fit since I had so much knowledge in that area. However, I soon found that writing about banking didn’t keep me engaged. It was a struggle to stay motivated, and I found myself growing bored with the subject.

Then, something profound happened. I began writing about my faith and what God had done in my life. This was not just another topic; it was something deeply personal and meaningful. Writing about my spiritual journey and sharing my experiences with God brought me a sense of fulfillment that I had never felt before. I discovered that my calling was not just about running a business or pursuing a career—it was about using my gifts to explore and express my faith.

In addition to writing, I also found joy in creating journals and designing. I loved the process of bringing my ideas to life and sharing them with others. It felt like a natural extension of my writing and a way to connect more deeply with my audience. I realized that this creative aspect was a crucial part of my calling, and it reinforced my belief that I was on the right path.

Looking back, I understand that finding my calling didn’t happen overnight. It was a journey filled with trial and error, self-discovery, and growth. Each experience, whether successful or not, taught me something valuable and guided me closer to understanding what I was truly meant to do.

If you’re struggling to find your own calling, I encourage you to take a similar approach. Explore different interests, try out new activities, and pay attention to what resonates with you on a deeper level. It’s important to be patient with yourself and recognize that discovering your calling is a process.

I also believe that seeking guidance from a higher power can be incredibly helpful. For me, asking God for direction and wisdom played a significant role in finding my path. I firmly believe that God has a purpose for each of us and that He can guide us to our true calling if we seek His help.

So, if you’re unsure about your calling, take a moment to reflect and pray. Ask God to reveal your purpose and guide you in the right direction. Trust that He will lead you to where you are meant to be. Your calling might not be immediately clear, but with faith and persistence, you will eventually find it.

In the end, discovering your calling is about aligning your passions, talents, and values with a sense of purpose. It’s about finding something that makes you feel fulfilled and connected to something greater than yourself. Your calling is unique to you, and it’s worth the effort to discover it.

Remember, the journey to finding your calling is not just about reaching a destination; it’s about the growth and learning that happen along the way. Embrace the process, stay open to new possibilities, and trust that you are moving towards something meaningful.

Ask God for guidance, explore your interests, and be patient with yourself. Your calling is out there, waiting for you to discover it. Take the first step today, and trust that you will find your way.
