Do you know what you want?

Do you know what you want?

Do you know what you want?

Of course you do.

Don’t you?

The answer is not always as obvious as you think. Too often I think I know what I want but in reality it’s something else.

For example, when I asked someone (lets call him Josh for now) this question recently they said a consistent £4k a month. Sounds simple right?

But when I asked what do you want the money for, it was to give Josh peace of mind, to know all the bills would be covered and then some money left over for fun.

Now we’re getting there. When we delved a little deeper on the fun element Josh gave himself permission to dream a little and start to think about things he would like and places he’d like to go.

We started to build a list of things, places, experiences and much more and I could see how excited he was getting, many of the “things” were for others and making the people important to him smile and have fun.

So what Josh really wanted wasn’t the £4k, it was to bring happiness, of course, money is needed for the for gifts and experiences and there’s nothing wrong with that.?

Let’s bring this back to business and networking.

I explained to Josh that the people he knows are more likely to want to help him to achieve his goals if they know the why; the impact it will make to him on a personal level, not to help him earn £4k a month.

I learned this the hard way, no-one explained any of this to me when I started my own business. I came from the corporate dog eat dog world. Collaboration? Pah! That was not something they taught in the business world I was previously in.

When I eventually learned how to help others to help me, WOW, did things accelerate. Learning how to teach others what I’m looking for so they remembered, and then did something to help me… this was a game changer.

And so now I’m on a mission. This whole weekly newsletter is all about helping more people.

Let me help you.

In order to achieve our goals we need to:

  • Know what we want from networking, to be able to describe a great referral so that someone hears it and gets it and takes action on it.
  • We need to be able to know what great referral partners we need and to teach others how to help us.
  • Then to learn how to build relationships with these people, now that would just complete the process. Sharing our why, to help people to understand us and the difference it makes.

Once we know what we want, it makes it so much easier for people to support us in achieving our goals.

If this sounds like something you’d like to do, then I have a free training coming up spread over 5 days. All pre-recorded and emailed in bitesize content for you to work on your business and move closer to your goals.

You can choose when to work on your business around your schedule.

If I can help you with anything, please message me to see how I could help.

One more connection might make all the difference.

Remember, never settle, never give up.
