Key Idea: Making Stuff People Really Want
Have you ever felt super bummed out because nobody seems to want the thing you made? Imagine you spent loads of time making something you think is super helpful. You've even done your homework to know exactly who should love it. You tell them all about how it can change their lives. But then... crickets. Nobody seems interested. You start to wonder, "Did I mess up? Are the wrong people listening to me? Am I just making things up?"
Sometimes, the thing you're offering isn't quite what people are looking for. If it doesn't seem right to them, they won't bother.
Today, I'm going to share a secret with you. How to figure out what people really want, so you can make something they can't resist.
Finding Out What People Like
You probably have a list of people you're trying to help with your business. You send them emails about new stuff you've got, chat with them on social media, and tell them about things they can buy. That's all great!
But, do you know if they actually like what you're sending? Are they clicking on links or just ignoring your emails?
A big mistake is sending stuff without checking if people like it. If you don't know what they're into, how can you make something they really want? You can't, because you're just guessing.
You should always keep an eye on what people are doing after they join your list. If you're not paying attention, you might be going the wrong way without even realizing it.
A smart move is to use a special tool that shows you what people click on and read. Put people into two groups: those who are paying attention and those who aren't.
Watch what happens. Do they like certain messages more? If they're not interested in anything, try sending them something free to see if they like that better.
By doing this, you'll learn what excites them and what doesn't. For example, if you're a money expert and notice people don't care about stock tips but love hearing about real estate, that's a clue about what to focus on.
This info can also help you make better stuff. If people aren't into what you're currently offering, it might be time to change things up.
Just Ask Them!
The easiest way to know what people want? Just ask them!
If your thing isn't selling and you're watching what people do, ask the ones who aren't interested why they don't want it.
You could say, "Hey, you joined my list because you wanted to fix a problem or reach a goal. I've shared tips and offered a thing to help. But it seems you're not interested. Could you tell me why? What would make it better for you?"
By asking, you'll learn a lot about how to improve. Maybe it's the price, what you're talking about, or how long it takes to use. You never know until you ask.
When you ask, you also make people feel like they're part of making something great. They'll think you really care and will be curious about what you do next.
Making Something Awesome
After you've watched and asked, it's time to update your thing to make it what people really want.
It doesn't matter if it's been out there for a while. You can always make it better and re-launch it.
Tell people you're working on a new version because of their feedback. Keep them updated on your progress. Share sneak peeks and ask for their opinions. This makes them feel part of the process and gets them excited.
When it's ready, some of the people who helped might even get it for free as a thank you. This makes them super happy and loyal to you.
With this new and improved thing, you'll likely sell more because you know it's what people want. You'll see better results, have happier customers, and make a bigger impact.
Building Your Dream
Just because something doesn't sell at first doesn't mean it's all over. It just means you need to dig deeper to find out what's missing and fix it.
If things aren't going well, talk to people. Find out why they're not buying. Get their advice on making your thing better.
You'll end up knowing more than most people ever do, allowing you to make something truly special.
Getting leads is just the start. Turning them into happy, paying customers is what really matters. So, take a moment to think about whether you're giving people what they want. You'll be glad you did.
