Under normal circumstances, 70% to 80% of the ink in the cells can be transferred to the printing plate. When the stability of print quality is seriously damaged, the fundamental reason is that the cells of the anilox roller are blocked by dry ink. The blockage failure will reduce the effective ink transfer volume of the ink cells.

To maintain accurate transfer of ink volume, the anilox roller must be properly cleaned. There are two cleaning methods: physical cleaning and chemical cleaning.

(1) Physical cleaning method. Media jet cleaning method (including baking soda spray cleaning method, dry ice cleaning method, plastic bead spray cleaning method, high pressure water cleaning method), ultrasonic cleaning method and laser cleaning method, etc.

(2) Chemical cleaning method. Also known as the alkaline solvent cleaning method, it uses corrosive alkaline (pH value 8~14) cleaning agents to soften and dissolve the residues in the cells by applying, dripping, spraying or soaking, and then using High pressure water for cleaning.

Simply to say, it includes 5 steps, please find as below:

Step 1. Use special cleaning lquid for manual cleaning to wet the surface of the anilox roller.

Step 2. Wrap the surface of the anilox roller with plastic film and soak for 10 minutes.

Step 3. Use a 0.03-0.07mm diameter steel brush to scrub

Step 4. Rinse with clean water

Step 5. Blow dry with hot air or air gun
