Do you how to use ultrasonic cleaner correctly to clean anilox rolls/anilox sleeves?

The ultrasonic cleaning method uses the vibration frequency of ultrasonic waves for cleaning. During cleaning, the anilox roller is completely immersed in the tank of the ultrasonic cleaning system filled with chemical cleaning solution, and a large number of particle bubbles are generated in the liquid by mechanical means. Pressure, the air bubbles close to the surface of the anilox roller will burst by themselves, and the strong vibration and scouring force generated at this time can clean the foreign matter inside the mesh. Due to this vibration and the continuous rotation of the roller body, the tiny bubbles in the liquid are constantly approaching the roller body, and bursting and vibration are generated continuously. slag, so that the ink slag in the mesh cell constantly shakes and falls off, so as to achieve the purpose of cleaning.

Because the ceramic layer of the anilox roller will be damaged under high-frequency ultrasonic vibration for a long time, this cleaning process will cause certain damage to the inner wall of the ink hole of the anilox roller. In addition, this method has a large area, high investment cost and complicated process, but has a certain cleaning effect.

When choosing ultrasonic cleaning equipment, the first thing to consider is the power generated by the ultrasonic frequency to ensure that the ink residue in the cells can be fully cleaned without damaging the cell walls.

Therefore, we recommend that customers pay attention to the following points when using ultrasonic cleaners:

(1) Be sure to soak for 15-30 minutes before cleaning, depending on the degree of ink drying.

(2) The expansion force generated by the ultrasonic frequency on the gas inside the small bubbles in the liquid must be within the range recommended by the manufacturer, and it needs to be cleaned at the optimal frequency obtained after many trials.

(3) The higher the ultrasonic frequency, the smaller the volume of the bubbles in the liquid and the weaker the intensity. The generally used frequency is 40kHz. However, due to different designs of various ultrasonic transmitters, the frequencies generated are also different, so the recommended values of the manufacturers are for reference only.

(4) The higher the temperature of the cleaning agent, the lower the viscosity of the cleaning agent, and the amount of air bubbles in the liquid will increase, thereby increasing the ability of ultrasonic cleaning. The temperature of the cleaning agent should generally be controlled at 40~60℃, and the cleaning agent must be a special ultrasonic lotion.

(5) The longer the ultrasonic cleaning time is, the more likely it is to damage the surface of the anilox roller and the cell wall. At present, many ultrasonic cleaning equipments have pretreatment systems. Generally speaking, the safe cleaning time to ensure no damage to the anilox roller is ≤ 5min. This data is for reference only.
