DO YOU HEAR WHAT I HEAR?

  It was around the tenth year of my life before I realized no one was truly listening to me as having any valuable insight as to who I was, how I felt about myself, and the world around me. I definitely wholeheartedly believe they were not doing this on purpose to hurt me in any way, but that does not change the truth. They showed me love and concern for me about how I dressed by providing me with store bought or hand made clothes. They provided me a shelter I loved and felt safe in. They provided me food by home cooked meals, picnics, going to diners, and fancy restaurants. They taught me how to build sandcastles in the sand and play board games.  We prayed before meals in our home, at church, laughed at jokes and ourselves. What was lacking was what I desired most. Not once did they sit down with me one on one and talk to me about life, share their struggles, feelings, or ask me to share mine. I never felt good about myself and I never felt like anyone wanted to hear what I felt like, but I am willing participated in all the do’s they did invite me to do. I also appreciated very much all they did give in the ways they gave it.

           After forty odd years I heard the true of voice of my Spiritual Savior, Jesus Christ, through another person. The voices I heard before sounded like this, “Can’t should never be in your vocabulary.” Meaning I could do anything and be anything if I put my own mind to it and work hard as long as I believe in myself. I tried to be that person but fell short all the time.  I was certain I was made different and heard different than everyone else because I could not form my mind to being what I wanted to be. The good I wanted to be I could not be and the good I wanted to do I could not do. I always felt condemned from all the wrong choices I was making. I had no control over my own evil desires that many appeared to have control of all around me. When I heard my Savior through His Holy Spirit He sounded like this, “No one is good but God, and you can do all things through me, but by yourself you can do nothing that will be pleasing to God.”

Can you hear the difference in their spiritual voices?

Once I heard His truth I gave myself fully and wholeheartedly to Him for Him to give me a new heart (Spirit) and renew my mind (soul) to be like His. I wanted my mortal body to have His Life given Spirit to it now, until His work is finished in and through me, and my spirit and soul to have His eternal life now and forever.  He fulfilled all that within myself in ways that went and still goes beyond my own understanding and imagination. I heard the voice from His Holy Spirit that knew exactly when and how I would hear Him and be devoted to Him all my life. I knew the moment I heard Him He would always listen to me and respond correctly.  I also knew I had and would always have a deep desire to  listen to Him and respond correctly, and if at some point I didn’t, I knew He would instantly give me His repentance and I would repent without damaging our relationship with one another. Not all hear what His repentance is through His Spirit of truth. He reveals His gift of repentance through His Spiritual voice to every person who has a heart to please Him and change by showing remorse for responding incorrectly to Him or others. God’s given repentance changes a person it is not given to keep them living the same. We can see this through Moses and David’s life and in the lives of the first disciples and through Paul.

           The sad truth is not all children or adults hear the same voice. There are many who respond differently when they are not being heard. Some respond violently to those that do not listen God’s voice and others ignore God’s voice and go their own way. This leaves two environments without ever hearing His truth in the way God desires it to be heard. The first environment only brings violence and no understanding or compassion. The second environment leaves the blind leading the blind without anyone ever changing or hearing His truth because they are going their own way and worshiping Him their own way by pleasing others more than pleasing Him. God’s way always speaks the truth out of love and gives the gift of repentance to those who truly want to please God. For those who truly do not want to please God will never receive the gift of repentance because they do not truly want to please Him, and He knows it.  Those that truly want to please God Hear His voice because they truly desire to belong to Him. People who would rather please others or themselves will always make Him into the image they desire to suite their own ways they want to live life and worship Him. As long as they live this way they will never  hear His voice. Jesus teaches us that those who belong to God hears what God says. The reason many do not hear, Jesus said, “Is they do not belong to God.” They claim to know God but truly they do not, and we will recognize them by all they produce. These are the two main environments with the largest numbers we live in today and they are growing.

           He is the only Spirit of truth that can give us the ears to hear all He desires and respond the right way. Those that don’t hear Him through His Spirit of truth will always mold him into an invisible Spiritual god who does not exist, which is an atheist, or they will mold Him into a spiritual god that looks like the image they want to make of Him. All these beliefs appear to be correct for them, but it is truly a deception, and again we will recognize their false hood by all they produce. Jesus teaches us through His Spirit of truth, to beware or watch out for all false teachers, and we will recognize them by the fruit they produce. Not many today are watching or even aware of false teachers that are among them because they do not hear God’s voice because they truly do not belong to God as Jesus taught and said to the religious people in his day.

           I lived forty odd years in ignorance without knowing His Spirit of truth, so I know the falsehood of what others produce more quickly than others. I also know He gives the gift of distinguishing the spirits to all who are fully devoted to Him above all, but today many do not distinguish between any of the spirits that are in them or around them because they truly do not belong to Him. Many do not even hear how he distinguishes the spirits from one another. This gift is not given for only our protection of testing the spirits around us. That would look very self-fish from God’s view of  the purpose of His gifts. All His gifts are given to share for  the building up of His Kingdom through our speech and deeds in our lives to draw people to HIM. This gift is given in order help others who are not living through His Spirit of truth in order to snatch them from going in the wrong spiritual direction. If someone rejects His truth He will give His faithful devoted children a heart to pray for them and wait patiently for them to open their ears to hear what we have heard through His Spirit of truth. Because we do not follow their beliefs or ways does not mean we show hatred or malice toward them. If at some point someone wants to show violence toward us for the way we are living there are laws in place to protect us. If  at some point those man-made laws do not work we all have the right to protect ourselves and the freedom in Him we live for. If we are overpowered by those in authority then we have to submit to the authorities of that country we have been placed in, pray, and wait for God to do His work or call us home.

           I will continue to hear Him as I hear Him and speak and live through all He gives me so I will listen as He listens and respond how He responds, so others will be drawn to Him not to me. Perhaps they will have a desire to truly hear Him and know and learn from Him through the same Holy Spirit I hear and know and learn from. The same Holy Spirit His Word and His life testifies too.
