Do you have a moment to talk about our....digital transformation?

I hate digital transformation.

I hate it in the sense of the panic that it creates whenever someone names it.

I hate it in the sense of the easiness and the carelessness with which people bring it in any conversation about digital.

Why is that? I believe it's because it implies change and we, as human beings, fear change. Also change is something generally unknown: you don't know if it's going to generate a good or a bad outcome.

But there is so much more about digital transformation. It is about:

  • care. Care about your customers as you want to elevate their experiences. Care about your employees as you want to make their daily job more efficient. Care about yourself as an entrepreneur that needs evolution.
  • forward movement. In the past years numerous researches have mapped the new customer behaviour and the way we are all interacting with products and services around us. The only thing we need to do is to adapt to current necessities and even foresee what is yet to come. Otherwise we will get stuck in a reality that will soon transform into a purgatory.
  • energy. Working with digital and tech savvy people, I've noticed that most of them are easily energised. This roller coaster that digital transformation proved to be brings them a lot of excitement and desire to elevate their work. Day by day.
  • empathy. When it comes to digital transformation, as Mad Magazine used to put it, “pobody’s nerfect”. There is no wrong or right. It's all about rinse and repeat and have compassion while doing it.

So please, handle it with care!
