Do you have half-squeezed lemons?
Last Saturday my daughter and I tackled cleaning out our fridge. I am not kidding when I tell you we had condiments from the last decade festering in there! We also must have thrown out no less than 5 half squeezed lemons. This naturally got me thinking about assets in our businesses! Humor me here.
How often do we as entrepreneurs acquire or create new assets (lemons) like capital expenditures (equipment) or IP (fancy talk for course creation) and not fully squeeze all the juice out of them before we move along to the next one?
There is an accounting term for this it is called Return on Assets it is one of the key performance indicators of healthy profit.
Profit creates stability in our organizations. We need to squeeze out every last drop of profit from our assets before we acquire more.
Here's to making sweet Profit lemonade in 2021.
