Isn't it super frustrating when you don't feel like you've achieved anything by the end of the morning or the day? Even worse, that nagging feeling of "you aren't enough" creeps in, and before you know it, you feel super shitty about everything. Then, you go scroll on your go-to social media platform, and you see everyone doing awesome stuff, which doesn't make you feel any better. Procrastination kicks in, and BOOM, before you know it, you enter a weird, negative spiral that is no good.
Do you recognize this scenario? Well, I hate it when this happens and recently experienced it firsthand, but luckily, I found a pretty simple way to stop it.
It was super helpful for me, and I also shared this approach with my VIP Freedom booster group, and they loved it. So I can't wait to share it with you today ??
Step 1: Keep breathing and stay hydrated!! That is not a joke; it's actually Steve Tsentserensky 's advice in pocast episode 49 and so true.
Step 2: Picture for yourself how success looks and feels like for you. Not just at work but in your everyday life from dawn to dusk.
Step 3: Define what 100% success and 80% success look like per project or task. Especially in business, there are always things to improve endlessly. So many go-getters go for 100%, but waste energy, time, and money on getting everything right while hitting 80% could be good enough too.
Step 4: Agree with yourself that when you hit 80%, you will celebrate it, always. There should be no excuse for you to skip celebrating your achievements. Treat yourself to a walk, a cookie, or fresh flowers. Do something to acknowledge your hard work.
So I want to encourage you to add this to your life and create a daily success image
Instead of focusing on my to-do list, I focus on what success would look like, and it usually highlights 3-5 things I must complete to have a successful day. On my list, you will find things like:
Look, I know that sometimes we have good and bad days, but I want you to know that you are enough. Your to-do list doesn't represent your well-being, and neither does your bank account or social media following.
If you want to chat more about this, feel free to send me a message because I'm all about positive peer pressure! ??
Lastly, I want to share that whatever your success image is, it should always be about how you define success and not focused on someone else's success image.
In this week's solocast, I go deeper into this but in short, try to stop comparing yourself to others
