My approach to the Consulting Insight as well as my personal Newsletter on LinkedIn is to only post tips, techniques, and thought pieces. Today, I'm doing something different and something I've never done on LinkedIn-this newsletter is an announcement about something I've not done in years. I'm offering three consulting workshops (see below) that haven't been offered in several years.
Why? Because I want to see consultants succeed. One way that I can help is to provide interactive workshops enabling consultants to discuss pertinent topics and understand the strategy and theory. But it doesn't stop there. Consultants need access to tools and techniques to help them and they need to be able to practice common consulting challenges.

Business Core: Focus, Ideal Client, and Service
Starts April 4, 2023 for 4 weeks
This workshop starts with discussions on defining your Focus, the one thing for which you want to be known. It continues by spending time identifying, finding, and validating your Ideal Client. It concludes with discussions on your Service which includes your Point of View (your differentiator), methodology, and actual services you provide.
As you move through this workshop defining and clarifying your Why, What, Who, and How, you start working on your marketing materials and building relationships with potential clients.
Your Business Core impacts just about every decision you make and action you take to help you build and grow your business. Get it right and you can SOAR! Get it wrong and you can struggle.
Build Awareness and Client Relationships
Starts May 2, 2023 for 6 weeks
The workshop starts with an overview of the client relationship model and creating your brand message which often is the first introduction into you. It continues with in-depth discussions on Connecting, Getting Known, Nurturing, and Staying in Touch and three key strategies—Targeted Outreach, Referrals, and Strategic Networking—every consultant should incorporate into their business.
But it doesn’t end there. Within the workshop we discuss incorporating approaches such as writing and speaking into your relationship strategy and moving a potential client into the Ask and Offer stage or the “Can you help me?” stage.
You leave the workshop with an overall relationship strategy and an action plan that fits you and supports your focus, ideal client, and service.
An Offer and Perfect Price
Starts June 13, 2023 for 3 weeks
As a consultant builds awareness and forms relationships, they position themselves for the most important question a client can ask them, “I think you can help me. Are you interested in talking?” This workshop covers the most important meeting a consultant has with a client, the discovery or exploratory meeting. A discovery meeting enables a consultant to understand the needs of a client and consequentially determine an approach and price leading to the creation of a proposal.
Walk away with a framework. Included are templates to help understand and evaluate an opportunity, develop an approach and price for a client, obtain consensus on the approach, and craft a proposal leading to a signed contract.
The next Consulting Insight will include a powerful technique that I believe every consultant needs to hone.
