Do you ever struggle to write your bio? AI could help.

Do you ever struggle to write your bio? AI could help.

Do you ever find it hard to write about yourself? When asked for a professional bio or an introduction for a keynote, do you drag your feet getting it written?

I know I do. It feels so wrong. Like I'm shamelessly bragging. I know people say nice things about me and my work but I also know all the times I don't meet up with my expectations. That inner critic gets in the way.

Well, there may be help. Joanna (J.F.) Penn has been talking about ChatGPT, a dialogue based AI tool.

This morning, I typed in: "Please write a promotional paragraph about executive coach and professional speaker Marc A. Pitman" (I picked up the "please" from Joanna. She said that sort of politeness was a British thing. ??)

The paragraph it generated was amazing. I pulled in my years of experience and even a business name I've used:

Marc A. Pitman is a highly respected and sought-after executive coach and professional speaker with over 20 years of experience in the industry. He has helped countless individuals and organizations achieve their goals and reach their full potential. With his deep knowledge of leadership and business, Marc provides valuable insights and practical tools that can help you take your career to the next level. In addition to his work as a coach and speaker, Marc is also the founder of The Fundraising Coach and the author of several books on fundraising and leadership. If you're looking to improve your skills and achieve success in your career, look no further than Marc A. Pitman. Contact him today to learn more about his services and how he can help you reach your goals.

Now like Samuel L. Jackson

Since it's dialogue based, you can ask it for tweaks. Like: "Now please do it as though spoken by Samuel L. Jackson." ??

It did! (But a totally safe for work version.)

Yo, what's up, my people? This is Samuel L. Jackson comin' at ya with the word on this guy Marc A. Pitman. Let me tell you, this man is the real deal when it comes to executive coaching and professional speaking. With over 20 years of experience, Marc knows his stuff and he knows how to deliver results. If you want to take your leadership skills to the next level, grow your business, or just become a straight-up boss in your career, then you need to get with Marc. Pitman today and start your journey to success!

What a riot!

Obviously, it is important to say that Samuel L. Jackson hasn't said this. Yet. And these are only a first draft. Some human editing is advisable. But this is helping me quickly get over writers block!

Have you tried using ChatGPT? What were your results?

ChatGPT integration coming soon! I did a fundraising appeal in the voice of Tina Fey and Chuck Norris over on a thread Louis Diez started. Here's snippet: I'm sure you know who I am. You've seen me in movies, on television, and you've heard plenty of stories about me. You know I'm one tough hombre, and I don't take kindly to people who don't do their part when it comes to supporting a good cause. That's why I'm writing to you today...Not only that, but I'll let you in on a little secret. If you make a donation of $50 or more, I'll tell you a funny story about one of my adventures. I guarantee you won't be disappointed. So what are you waiting for? Your donation will make a real difference, and you'll get a funny story in the process. Don't make me angry, just make a donation today. Sincerely, Chuck Norris
