Do You Deserve To Be Called My Child?

Do You Deserve To Be Called My Child?

From today’s reading...

"’Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you.
I no longer deserve to be called your son;
treat me as you would treat one of your hired workers.’”

These are the words of the Prodigal Son upon his humbled return to his father after wasting his inheritance.

He knew he screwed up.

He knew he was in the wrong.

He did not return expecting or demanding to receive any honor or preferential treatment.

He owned his actions and his offenses.

"My dear brethren, do not ever forget, when you hear the progress of lights praised, that the loveliest trick of the Devil is to persuade you that he does not exist!" Charles Baudelaire, "The Generous Gambler" (Feb. 1864)

Stay the course.

Keep the faith.

Endure.

Now go sell something.
