The New Year will mark the 2 year anniversary of a challenge laid down to the Inside Sales team at Saia. I challenged the team to “Dare to FAIL every day” and had buttons printed so each person including me could earn one. The challenge as indicated by its name was not a one-time dare, but an everyday one.
I believe that the only way to get better at something is by going beyond one’s self every day. This can be terribly uncomfortable and risky.
The team accepted the challenge by constantly staying out of their comfort zones and daring to fail every day. By doing so, they not only become better at their profession but they become more confident by understanding that if you “dare to fail”, you can do what is beyond any self-imposed boundaries.
In turn, their daily commitment to dare to fail also transformed a department. One that is much different from the department of two years ago.
If you or someone you know has a “Dare to FAIL” spirit, please reach out to us. We have a “Dare to FAIL” button waiting.

9 年This is great. So often we get comfortable in our safe zones and don't realize the potential in trying something new or out of our comfort zones. Sounds like your team has a great leader!
