Do you believe vulnerability is a strength or a weakness?

Today I am sharing a personal reflection which explores the power of vulnerability, something I used to think was always a weakness…
?
It can be easy to let the hunger for success take over our pursuit of greatness and force us to lose sight of the human aspect of our journey.
?
There are days when I feel overwhelmed, questioning if I’m doing enough. Am I doing enough as a professional, as a father and as a friend? It is in these moments of vulnerability that I really find my true strength. Admitting our fears and doubts doesn’t make us weak - it makes us human. Embracing these moments can be the key to unlocking our greatest potential.
?
I look at my children, Raymi and Kaziah, and I’m reminded of why I push forward every day. They inspire me to be better, to dream bigger and to never settle. The bike rides, the laughter and the time spent building Lego. All these moments ground me and remind me that true wealth lies in our relationships and experiences.
?
To everyone striving to make their dreams a reality, remember:
It’s okay to feel vulnerable. Embrace it, harness it and let it launch you forward.
Persistence and focus are important - but so is recognising and accepting our vulnerabilities - they are not setbacks - they are the stepping stones to our success.
?
Just like in the gym, where pushing through moments of weakness leads to greater strength, acknowledging our vulnerabilities allows us to grow. Similarly, when learning a new skill, facing initial difficulties and overcoming them leads to significant personal development. These experiences teach us that vulnerability is not only natural, but essential for growth.
?
We can all be dreamers, we are doers, so by transforming our vulnerabilities into strengths, we can go on to achieve unimaginable success.
Let's stay strong, stay human and keep pushing forward. Together, we’ve got this!
?
Thank you for being part of this journey.
?
Stay inspired, stay powerful and never stop dreaming.

Nathan Waldron total super power. If you can't demonstrate vulnerability , you are not only fooling yourself with fantasy that sets you up for bitter disappointment and the ability to correct course, but for all those around you ( kids included in your case) , you set a tone that says never admit mistakes, hide things when they go wrong and pretend - so stepping out to be vulnerable lets those around you know its "ok" when things don't go well, or you don't feel great - it will earn trust, build connection and make you "human". It is what has happened over the years in financial services over the years, heaven forbid a senior leader could admit a mistake or not know the answer , so this gets covered up, culture gets built around perfection and then you have this whole ocean of sub optimal decisions and fear culture.
