Do you believe in Unicorns? We do.

Do you believe in Unicorns? We do.

Hello LinkedIn legends!

Welcome to edition #4 of "More to The Point". It's been another fast-paced month and just as we got over half term it feels like Halloween and Bonfire night were upon us in an instant. Now all we can think of is, yep, Christmas!

We have some lovely news to share, so let's dive straight in.

On Thursday the 2nd of November Spin Master 's Unicorn Academy premiered exclusively on Netflix and is already number one in the "Top 10 children's TV programmes in the UK Today" section and across Netflix US and Canada.

Our team has been working on this phenomenal brand for the last 18 months and we can feel it in our bones, that Unicorn Academy will be the next big thing in licensing. Just watch this space.

We have written and delivered an incredible retail-focused brand extension strategy, and already the licensor has set new benchmarks in partnership content and delivery. There are huge plans for retail in 2024 from merch to clothing, toys to books and even a digital game.

So if your child loves fantasy, adventure and unicorns we can almost guarantee they will love Unicorn Academy. The series includes a 72-minute special movie premiere followed by 8 magical episodes (plus absolutely tons of YouTube content) where you can follow 14-year-old adventure-obsessed Sophia Mendoza on her journey from ordinary to extraordinary as she discovers her destiny as a unicorn rider. Here is the trailer.

On YouTube alone, the premiere movie has had 3.2 Million views.

The Unicorn Academy website offers a sneak peek into each character’s personas, but something tells us that when you mix a peaceful Unicorn Island with the threat of the return of grim magic, you’re guaranteed to get characters that showcase how awesome the power of friendships and girl power can be!

The show is as much an action/adventure series as it is one of self-discovery. During the series, the characters get to explore all of the wonderful powers Unicorn Island holds, while discovering who they are and the importance of their unique powers.

It couldn't be more fitting when the whole world has been experiencing rocky times over the last few years. We needed this and so do our children, we needed to remember that magic can happen and to feel good and inspired. Welcome to Unicorn Academy.

The True Purpose Podcast.

We simply could not publish an edition of "More to The Point" without mentioning "The True Purpose Podcast", the reason being, is that we LOVE creating this space where we open up the conversation on 'purpose' with some of the most inspirational and purpose-led people in the world of licensing and beyond. There always seems to be a moment in each conversation where we reach a golden nugget of passion or an experience that makes the listeners connect with the guests on a level that we believe can only be reached in an environment such as a podcast. Ultimately this makes us feel very privileged. There has been a lot of laughter, and even tears, whilst recording the podcast and we get to share some of the conversations that you would never get to hear.

Every single guest is unique in their background and life but we all share the same drive, and that is building businesses or working within businesses that are purpose-led.

Last week we released episode #10 where our host Will Stewart is joined by Richard Beese , to discuss the bumpy road to discovering his purpose in business.

Richard is a co-founder of We Do Play , Flip Out Global , Putt Putt Social and BOOM BATTLE BAR 's.?All of his businesses have purpose at the heart of what they do, creating unrivalled and unforgettable experiences for everyone.

Although purpose wasn’t always at the forefront of his mind, Richard reflects on how it led him to where he is today. You can catch Richards' episode on all of the major podcast platforms or via one of the links below.

Pinch of Nom

?The next guest on our podcast is one that we think you will really enjoy, and she is our first-ever partner guest! Our host Will Stewart is joined by Kay Allinson author and co-founder of the award-winning healthy recipes and number 1 best-selling recipe book Pinch of Nom.

With nearly 5 million books sold since March 2019, and a website attracting over 12 million page views per month, pinchofnom.com has become one of the UK's most favoured and popular food blogs since launching in January 2016.

Kay is a wonderful person to chat with, we could have kept recording for hours as she had us captivated by her stories of resilience and sheer hard work. Kay is ultra-talented and her quick-witted humour had us all chuckling away, she is a real gem. This episode is one to look out for, so keep an eye on our LinkedIn page for the release.

Team days.

The Point.1888 team out in London.

One of the things we love the most is getting everyone together for a team day, whether it's to co-work, a company update or like this particular day to wish one of our legends the best of luck in their next role. Team days are important when you mostly work remotely, thought-provoking, inspiring conversations happen and creativity flows. We get to share more and bond more. The team are a super busy bunch of humans, and in the world of licensing no two days are ever the same, we have a lot of fantastic things going so it's key for us to get together in person.

And lastly in this November edition as we can literally see 2024 peeping over the hill we wanted to reintroduce ourselves.
