Do you believe in Good Karma?

My Story. My Journey....

From TODAY onwards, I decided to share my personal experiences, mistakes, failures, successes and everything that life has been teaching me...

I simply call this “My Story. My Journey...”

Here, I am with my FIRST personal story on “Good Karma.”

Ever since I owned a car, I have always volunteered to pick up and drop friends, acquaintances and even strangers who asked me for a free ride.

The great part of this is you get to know people and hear their stories, especially who are travelers and tourists.

I always wondered, I give these free rides to so many people, will I ever get to enjoy the same from others?

Here’s what happened highlighting just 3 experiences out many :

Experience 1 - Melbourne, Australia

I came to Australia first time in September 2014 and landed in Melbourne Tullamarine Airport. It was rainy and cold night. I was figuring out my options to go to the hotel and realized busses were not running during the middle of the night. I was planning to take a cab. A middle aged man apparently has been observing me, walked upto me and told me that he came to drop his daughter at the airport and will soon come back and see me at the exact same place he met me.

I waited for 15 minutes, he met me and volunteered to drop me at the hotel. I told him, he did not have to do it. He did it anyway. He went out of his way, ensured we found the hotel, helped me with the luggage and waited till I checked in.

Experience 2 – Los Angeles, US

This time, it was a mini truck going from Los Angeles to San Francisco. I was inquiring about bus bays and the timing at McDonalds. The staff looked at me puzzled as if I was asking for something unusual.

Long story short, U-Haul driver heard me talk to the staff and told me, buddy, this is US. We don’t use public transport, we drive our own cars and trucks. If you don’t have a problem, I can give you a free ride in a truck to San Francisco! What a ride that was, I thoroughly enjoyed the company, truck ride, pit shops and conversations....

Experience 3 – Mumbai, India

I was going to an event, finding my way walking through South Mumbai lanes to find the venue. A lady in a car with a driver asks me for the address, as if I know. It so happened, that she too was going to the same event / venue. She gave me a ride till the venue.

It doesn’t stop there. After the event was over, I was going my way saying my good byes to all participants including this lady. She asked me where I was going and I told her, yet again, she volunteered to give me a free ride. This time, she took a de-tour so I can reach my destination without having to take any other transport. It’s such a wonderful gesture given Mumbai traffic is one of the most notorious.

The moral of the story from above 3 experiences;

“Do Good Karma. It WILL come back to you in the most unexpected and beautiful ways, always....”

What goes around - comes around - right! )) And it does not always come back in the same form, like you give rides, then you given a ride, often the form is very different, but beautiful anyway if you understand it.
