Do what you love
It’s close to a decade after my graduation in May 2011(computer science engineering with distinction from Pune university)
Thought of sharing my failures and few small success on the way of pursuing my dreams
First failure - college placement
I couldn’t get a job in campus placement and had to make money for my survival so accepted contract of building ‘welconTechno’ project in Raipur to develop their website and Admin portal. WelconTechno(https://www.facebook.com/WelconTechno/) manufactures machines to build paving blocks. That’s where my entrepreneurship journey started.
Second failure - Neon (https://neon-cloud.com/)
Registered Neon in Dec-2012 as I wanted to start my own company. I did few projects but soon realised that this is not going to work out and I need to learn more about business and technology.
First small success - UXUIExperts - Not big but I could build what I wanted to - https://uxuiexperts.com/
Feb 2014 started a whatsApp group. Forum where UX/UI and Frontend experts connect to discuss current trends and latest technologies. It's closed network of 500+ experts and growing.
Third failure - Happy2Help (https://happy2help.org.in/)
Dec 2015 started a non-profit community to Help others to pursue their dreams and follow their passion. Tried many things like created FB pages for different domain where people can help and guide others. Connected with many people from different background so that we can build diverse community. Connected with many schools and colleges and did few workshops for students. But failed to do anything significant.
Fourth failure - DigitalSpace (https://digitalspace.co.in/)
2016-2017
Registered DigitalSpace Pvt. Ltd. under PUNE-ROC in Nov 2016. Registered sales office in Sydney(Australia) to get some deals which didn't workout.
Established partnership with https://fullstackone.com/ in Frankfurt to work on a ING bank deal to build mobile application. But failed to get the deal.
2017-2018
Worked with GrayBar (https://www.facebook.com/graybarpti/) to digitise sports event organisation in India. Goal was to stream event live and to build a portal for online registration for athletes. Somehow couldn’t converge with the partner.
worked with https://www.rogers.com/home to build an application like AirBnb. Project name was ‘World vacation rent’ but we couldn’t agree on terms and condition of the project.
2018-2019
partnered with https://thynkdigital.com/ to transform FinTech industry. Worked on proposal for QNB, ENBD and FAB. We got FAB deal but it was just design work. We also did design proposal for Sadhguru mobile app and got the deal.
Signed SOW with https://cloudhedge.io/ to migrate their legacy app to MFA. Worked and designed boilerplate with initial setup and architected migration strategy. Common components using storybook and MFA using single-spa library.
Signed NDA with https://www.codeofthings.co.in/ to build a hiring portal. Worked on prototyping the concept and we were planning to start the development but later it didn’t workout because of our certain differences.
Tried with https://consultadd.com/it-training-services/ to build a product for training and placement but this also didn’t workout.
2019-2020
Partnered with a company to build a product. Where we wanted to build a platform for branding a startup end to end in United States. But we couldn't match each other expectations.
Partnered with https://ozoteknoloji.com/ to build a e-commerce platform for local business in Istanbul, Turkey. But couldn't succeed.
Started Logkat (https://logkat.slack.com/) - a global developer’s community with my friend Abhishek Jain who is working with Spotify in Stockholm, Sweden. Slowly we are growing this community.
Started Programmerspark (https://programmerspark.com/) - The Frontend Lab - Medium publication with my friend Shivaji who is working with Deloitte Germany.
Second small success - Happy2Help - Open Mentoring Group - https://happy2help.org.in/mentoring/
During COVID lockdown initiated ‘Open Mentoring Group’. Free mentoring for everyone, connecting you to the person you want to become. This time we could do somewhat we aimed for and it’s growing well.
Third small success - Enterprise Minds - https://www.eminds.ai/
Joined as a first employee in India to execute ThoughtSpot contract of building team to do the product development. I got this opportunity after struggling for almost 9+ years after my graduation. Where I had a deal in hand, a mentor and investor to bootstrap the company. I will be always grateful to Bharath for trusting and giving this opportunity. We are growing well globally.
Summary
'Do what you love' quote from Wework.
I always enjoyed building things from scratch. I failed many times but never gave up on my dreams. After 10+ years of journey it feels like I haven't even achieved 2% of what I wanted to do.
Hence growing 2% everyday through what I am going through. I was never afraid of taking risks and took every single chance which came on my way to do something challenging.
Rise through your failures and shine everyday. Help others to pursue their dreams.
