Do what you love and what you love will do for you.

Life has it′s rewards, especially if you do what you love to do... like I do.

Yesterday, I was on a consultation call with someone I interviewed thirty years ago as a college senior. Someone who really had not thought about going in to education, someone who had been urged by others to go after things that would make more money.

When he walked in, it took me just minutes to know the path that I felt this young man should take and by the end of the interview, I could tell how charged up he was about the opportunity being presented at the time. For me, it was a no brainer, but he had to change his mindset to go after something he had never thought about. Didn′t take long once he saw the life he could build for himself and his new family.

He started with an internship his first year and then moved on to one of the top boarding schools in the US, where he would serve in many roles. As a math teacher, a dorm parent, a varsity football and lacrosse coach and ultimately, he became an Associate Head of School and now he is being rewarded by having the opportunity to become a Head of School.

He had found his calling at the age of 22 and with his patience, hard work, dedication, passion and the love of what he loves to do, he now has the ultimate possibility.....for him and his family.

He is living proof that if you do what you love to do, what you love to do will do for you.

Today, I am the lucky one, because my reward is to see the amazing things he has done and continues to do. I am lucky, because I am able to call him my friend. Cheers to all the go getters in life.
