Do What Lights You Up

Hey! I've been thinking about this thing that's been on my mind lately, and wanted to share it with you.We all have dreams, right? And they're not always the same ones. They can be dreams of becoming an actor or singer, dreams of becoming a writer or a doctor, dreams of traveling the world or just getting to the point where we feel like we're doing something worthwhile with our lives. But there's one thing that my friend once said that I think is true for all of us: "You can't do what lights you up if you're not lit up."And for me, that doesn't just mean lighting up your life with candles and incense (although those are cool) but literally and figuratively lighting yourself up from the inside out—with passion and joy and excitement.
Life is too short to just get by. You can't let yourself fall into the trap of mediocrity, and you can't let yourself be content with being like everybody else. You're so much better than that. You're so much cooler than that. You need to do what lights you up, what makes you want to jump out of bed in the morning, and what gets you excited about what the world has to offer. Don't let yourself fall into a rut or settle for something that doesn't make you happy.
So if you're feeling lightless, know that it's easy to rediscover your light—all you need to do is figure out what makes you feel alive.
