Do we Remember What we Learned in School?

Do we Remember What we Learned in School? We tend to automatically say "we do not remember anything from the school", but apparently this isn't true. Studies presented by the one and only Daniel T. Willingham have tried to see what we remember from school after several years or several decades. The studies reveal that there are residues left in memory even when we are convinced that there was nothing left. As we get more clues about the content we can begin to pull it out slowly. If we study the material from scratch will learn it faster than the first time we've learned it, even if many years have passed. For trainers and teachers this is good news. Not everything is gone and the studied material serves the student even if one is not aware of it.
