So often I find in business we have this rinse, wash and repeat mindset of doing the same thing over and over again and hoping for the results to be different.
Do we know how to create a genuine connection quickly with people? Does it get created through technology or through the phone?
I love the phone because then I can hear the tone of someones voice and be able to see how I can actually help.
In sales sometimes when we just read through a script it doesn't actually help to have a genuine and quick connection.
I will give an example. This morning I connected with a person who at first was not very happy that I had called him. He in general was very disconnected on the phone, quickly answered my questions and then just came across as grumpy. Then I laughed at the fact that his first name is my middle name and that I pronounce my middle name differently. He then laughed too! Then the doors opened!
Yay for genuine connection!
